We will do our best to minimize our ecological footprint!

Sustainability is important to us!

We attach great importance to sustainability and organize this event as sustainably as possible. By booking tickets , participants are supporting the following measures:

Food & Catering

  1. We only use porcelain and glass tableware - everything is washed and can be reused.

  2. We offer vegan and vegetarian dishes and try to keep the CO2 footprint of our food as low as possible.

  3. The Estrel Hotel tries to make its cuisine as regional as possible. Among other things, the hotel has its own 45 square meter greenhouse on the roof of the hotel for its own kitchen, uses regional suppliers from the Berlin-Brandenburg region and produces its own honey, for example.

  4. Unused food should be reused within the hotel. About "Estrel Share" snacks and meals from overproduction are made available to Estrel employees free of charge. In addition, the "Too Good To Go" app distributes surplus food that would otherwise end up in the bin to those in need.

Arrival, mobility, visitor behavior

  1. The conference hotel is best reached by public transport. The Sonnenallee train station can be reached from the airport and the main train station in about 30 minutes and the train is the recommended means of transportation in Berlin.

  2. We offer all participants discounted rates for traveling by train and encourage them to travel by train.

  3. The hotel offers charging facilities for electric cars in the underground parking garage.

  4. The conference will take place at one single location. The conference venue and the hotel rooms are within walking distance.

  5. During the event, we avoid CO2 emissions from transfers and overnight stays in locations far away from the event venue.

Energy, heating, accommodation

  1. Room temperatures are actively controlled throughout the conference hotel and lowered during the night.

  2. Energy-saving lamps and appliances are used in all rooms and areas of the hotel.

  3. The hotel operates its own 160-kWh photovoltaic system to generate electricity for its guests.

  4. The CO2 emissions associated with the rental linen (including towels, bed linen, tablecloths, etc.) in the hotel are calculated and offset by greenhouse gas compensation in a certified reforestation project in Colombia.

Advertising material, prints, furniture

  1. We try to avoid printed materials as much as possible and communicate digitally at the event. Our conference app enables participants to have a good conference experience on site without printed documents.

  2. Stand construction on site is carried out by the stand builder using reusable Octanorm walls. The furniture used for the stands and the venue is also rented and reused several times.

  3. The conference hotel's furniture will be used on site for seating and catering and, where possible, no furniture will be delivered to the hotel in order to minimize emissions.

  4. Most surplus advertising material is sent back to our partners and sponsors for recycling.

  5. Participant administration is completely digital.
